About this study club

London South ITI Dulwich Study Club Hosted by Professor. Shakeel Shahdad and Dr. Michael Myint. Professor Shakeel Shahdad is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and Honorary Professor of Oral Rehabilitation at the Royal London Dental Hospital, Barts NHS health Trust and Queen Mary University of London. He is also a fellow and chairman of the ITI scholarship centre. Michael Myint is a Specialist in Prosthodontics, Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London and also an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Bristol. He is also a fellow of the ITI and an NHS Clinical Entrepreneur. Shakeel and Michael both work together in private practice at 94, Harley St.

Our study club is a relaxing and interactive community with members coming from Essex, Surrey and the Greater London area. We love to share ideas, experiences and learn from each other. Especially for those tricky cases you may have, whether you are a beginner or experienced, it is for all levels. We are lucky to have a community including trainees from Queen Marys University of London, ITI scholars, to experienced clinicians including restorative consultants and clinicians that have been practising implant and restorative dentistry for over two decades to join in the discussions. Shakeel loves his golf and has made it a lovely day event – I believe his record with Ben Matthams from Straumann is 10- nil. Nevertheless, Ben still loves to have a golf day with us due to the fun atmosphere and is a regular on the tee off.

We have four events each year at Dulwich and Sydenham Golf Club. We always seek to try to get two international speakers, in the past we have been fortunate to have speakers such as Dean Morton, Vincent Fermer, Isabella Rocchietta, Danny Buser as well as Daniel Wismeijer. Overall, we are a place of zero-judgement and it’s a great place to feel safe and discuss challenges we face in dentistry after a hard day in the surgery.
