About this study club

Dr Mike Lloyd Hughes is a Dental Surgeon with special interest in Implantology, Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry and he is the Director of the ITI Study Club for Anglesey & North Wales and has been running the Club since 2013. The Clubs reigns were handed over to Mike by the late Dr Graham Roy, senior ITI Fellow, who had run the Study Club previously for many, many years. Mike has been involved with the ITI since 2007, and became an ITI Fellow in 2019 for services to teaching others, and is the first and only Welsh speaking ITI Fellow in the World. Pre-covid the club was one of the fastest growing clubs in the UK, considering it’s rural location. The program for the year, involves two visiting speakers, and three case discussion evenings, where Mike shows cases, but also encourages members to bring cases to discuss. Members are mainly dental practitioners, and the level is suited to the members who come along, and whilst complex cases are shown, all cases are discussed on a simple level. The study club is run on a Tuesday evening at Stride Dental Academy Lecture Suite, based in the beautiful surroundings of Parc Menai in Bangor. This is located just off the A55, next to the Brittania Bridge over the Menai Straits, with the stunning backdrop of the Eryri National Park mountain range – the outdoor playground of the North West!
